The updated D4ACE guidance is closely aligned with the direction of EU regulation, particularly the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and forthcoming Design for Recycling (DfR) criteria and CEN standards and specifications.
D4ACE testing and data also fed directly into the development of the CEN DfR standards on PE and PP flexible packaging in CEN TC261/SC4/WG10, which are expected to support secondary legislation under PPWR. The D4ACE guidance offers potential insights into what secondary legislation will require.
